Dream on Dreamer
Updated: Jul 13
What is it that tug on your heart’s strings so much so that you have an internal song that keeps on playing and you cannot get out of your head? It’s the dream and that is only the beginning. If that is you, no worries, nothing great was every built in a day. You have to feel it. Engagement in activities in areas related to your interests allows you to feel the dream. You have to see it. Strategic coach Dan Sullivan said, “Our eyes only see and our ears only hear what our brain is looking for.” What are you looking at? Put up pictures of people and things that inspire you.
What are you reading? Read about and try to meet people you admire and who inspire you. Read and study in areas of your greatest interest. Are you physically training or couch potato-ing? Get your body in optimal shape to pursue your dream. If your dream is big enough, you are going to need a lot of energy. What’s playing in your ear? Get quiet and listen for the small still voice. Tap into the spiritual you and listen for the help for a bigger-than-self dream.
Everyone ought to have a dream. When you have a dream that you can’t let go of, trust your instincts and pursue it. Harvey Mackay said it best; real dreams take work, they take patience, and sometimes they require you to dig down very deep. Be sure you’re willing to do that. Be willing to do the work that is required. The dream is just the first part of this amazing journey.
Imagination is to dream as fresh wind is to life…
When I grow up, I want to be…
Never lose hope and set them aside. But if you do, just pick them back up and recapture your dreams.
Never be afraid to dream…so dream on dreamer!
